“Dead Poets Society” inspired me to write this poem.
c’mon, cry
burst it all out
no one believes in you?
who cares!
it’s your soul, your passion
you only live once
make the most of it
write more, create more
sit in silence more if you need to
experience the world in your own little corner
defy conformities, rule!
rule your heart
there’s a reason why you have it
ideas! respect them!
they are meant for you
get to work!
don’t let a day die on you
make it worthy
make it smile
make it important
make it hear you
make it breathe with you
make it walk alongside you
make it true
make it a day that only belongs to you
now, hush
because you are great
it’s in there somewhere
don’t be scared
for your greatness begs to come out
so let it out
don’t cry anymore
your day has come
now
your day is here
now
